Google Drive Import
Import media files directly from Google Drive without downloading them to your computer first.
In the Web Uploader
- Click "Import from Google Drive" in the upload area
- Authorize Ads Uploader (one-time setup)
- Select files from the Google Picker dialog
- Files upload automatically to the Uploader
For the picker flow:
- You must own the files you select
- Files you do not have access to will be reported as not accessible
- Each pick is limited to 2,000 files; pick again if you need more and the files queue together in the tray. Keep this tab open until the upload finishes. Large video batches take a while because Meta processes every video.
- Same intelligent file naming detection applies (thumbnails, variants, grouping)
Import From Links (Web Uploader, CLI, MCP, and API)
In the web uploader, click Import by Link next to the Google Drive button. Paste one public Google Drive folder link on its own, or up to 250 links to image and video files, one per line: Google Drive file links or direct HTTPS links from any host. Folder links are Google Drive only. The dialog closes and the import runs in the background in the standard upload progress popup, with per-file progress and a cancel option. Drive links must be shared as Anyone with the link. Completed media is automatically added to your table alongside the files already there, including after cancellation. Refreshing the page resumes progress for an active import.

Link imports work with:
- Public HTTPS URLs to individual image or video files
- Public Google Drive file links
- A public Google Drive folder link, imported as a background job (up to 5,000 files and 64 GB per folder)
Drive links must be shared as Anyone with the link (Viewer). Private Drive files remain a web-uploader feature via the picker above.
In the CLI, ads upload accepts URLs alongside local paths in the same batch, and ads upload:drive imports a public folder with per-file progress. Through the MCP, give your agent the links and it starts a background ingest job, then polls progress; the file bytes never pass through the conversation.
File naming detection (thumbnails, aspect ratio variants, grouping) applies to link imports the same way it does to direct uploads, so a well-named Drive folder arrives already grouped.
